NETWORKING TO STAY UP TO DATE
We regard the regular professional exchange on topics of environmental education as an important part of our environmental station’s work. That is why we have been engaged in various networks and specialist groups for many years.
As an environmental station, we are part of the Round Table of the Upper Palatinate (Runder Tisch Oberpfalz) and the Environmental Stations specialist group of ANU Bavaria. We are also involved in the newly founded ‚Young Actors‘ specialist group of ANU Bavaria. Furthermore, we are part of the ‚Social-Ecological Transformation‘ focus area within the Association of Catholic Social Education Institutions (AKSB), thereby contributing to nationwide cooperation.
As one of 12 recognised youth education centres in Bavaria, we are part of an active network with regular professional exchange, directors’ conferences and further training. The principles of sustainability in particular are gaining increasing importance through close cooperation with other environmental stations within the network. We actively contribute our expertise to these processes while benefiting from collegial cooperation and professional exchange.
OUR PARTNERS
Our environmental station thrives on strong partnerships and active exchange. Together with the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park (Naturpark Oberer Bayerischer Wald) and the Kürzinger organic farm, we create hands-on educational programmes with a direct connection to the region and nature. In cooperation with the Förderkreis Jugendbildungsstätte Waldmünchen e.V., a wide variety of seminars take place that enrich our educational work.
We are proud of our successful cross-border cooperation with the Czech association Prostor pro rozvoj. Together we develop and realise German-Czech educational projects focusing on sustainability, which connect young people from both countries and raise their awareness of topics relevant to the future.
FRIENDS OF THE YOUTH EDUCATION CENTRE
The Förderkreis Jugendbildungsstätte Waldmünchen e.V. (support association) was founded to provide lasting support for the diverse and activating educational programmes of the Jugendbildungsstätte Waldmünchen for young people. The focus is on promoting civic engagement and civil-society responsibility.
We pay particular attention to imparting key competencies that are also anchored in Education for Sustainable Development – the keyword being shaping competence (Gestaltungskompetenz).
The members invest their time and energy to develop projects that motivate people to take responsibility and shape the future positively. Together we create spaces for ideas, for engagement and for a society that champions sustainability.
In addition, together with its „Dirrmaler Wirte“, the association invites guests once a month in autumn and winter to a cosy hosts’ evening at the „Dirrmaler Wirt“ of our centre for environmental education. The catering for the ‚Bürgertreff am Böhmertor‘ event series is also handled by the dedicated „Dirrmaler Wirte“.
