Bischofteinitz Castle / Horšovský Týn

Horšovský Týn Castle, formerly known as Bischofteinitz Castle, was built in the 13th century as a Gothic bishop’s castle and rebuilt in the Renaissance style after a fire in 1547. Today it houses a museum presenting the history of the region. The castle park, originally laid out in the Italian style, was later redesigned into an English landscape garden and invites visitors for a stroll.
